“Reunification”
The issue between Taiwan and the Communist Party of China is not complex. What the authoritarian elites of China can’t comprehend is that most sane people in Taiwan don’t want to live under an unelected one-party dictatorship.
The CCP is an abusive parent. It’s entire history is one of violent punitive coercion. While elite institutions often praise the Chinese totalitarian enterprise, most people can see it for what it is. A world under their “leadership” would be a horrid dystopia. The fact that there are actually people who are okay with submissive dystopian living doesn’t change the fact that most of us are not.
You want to live in a dictatorship, a cult, or under the thumb of coercion and abuse, go for it and leave the sane among us alone.
